Valentine’s Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Valentine’s Chocolate Covered Pretzels are an easy, no-bake sweet made with melted dark chocolate, coconut oil, and red, white, and pink sprinkles. They come together in under 20 minutes and are perfect for gifting, parties, or a sweet Valentine’s Day snack.

Equipment

  • Small bowl, for melting chocolate
  • Parchment paper lined platter or baking sheet

Ingredients
  

  • 30-40 small pretzels (I used pretzels that were about 2 inches x 2 inches)
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips or chunks
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • Valentine's Day colored sprinkles (hearts, nonpareils, sanding sugar)
  • Optional: flaky sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Prep: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Melt the Chocolate: Add 1 cup dark chocolate chips or chunks and 1 tsp coconut oil to a heatproof bowl. Melt using a double boiler over low heat, or microwave in 20–30 second intervals, stirring between each round until smooth and glossy.
  • Dip the Pretzels: Dip each pretzel halfway into the melted chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Decorate: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with Valentine’s sprinkles. Add a light pinch of flaky sea salt if using.
  • Set: Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes until the chocolate is firm. Then remove and enjoy!

Notes

Pretzels
Feel free to use any pretzel shape or size; larger pretzels will naturally result in fewer pieces.
Melting chocolate
If the chocolate starts to thicken while dipping, gently reheat it in short bursts, stirring often to avoid overheating.
Switch up the sprinkles
Use different colors or shapes to match any holiday or occasion—these are easy to customize year-round.
Quick set
I like popping the pretzels in the fridge for 15–20 minutes to help the chocolate set quickly and evenly.
Storage
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or refrigerate if your kitchen runs warm.
